DiscoverDesign.org: The Chicago Architecture Foundation (CAF) recently launched a free online educational tool to connect teens, teachers, and architects to project-based learning opportunities, with strong emphasis on 21st century skills development. To celebrate, the CAF is inviting U.S high school students (at least 13 years old, grades 9-12) to enter the 2012 National High School Architecture Competition. The competition challenge: redesign your school cafeteria for healthy eating in a sustainable space. CAF has partnered with BlackSpectacles.com to offer all students registered in the competition access to free online tutorials for design software such as Google SketchUp, Revit, 3DS Max Design, Photoshop, and AutoCAD until the end of the competition. Registration and consent forms deadline: April 4, 2012. Project submissions deadline: May 23, 2012. More at http:www.discoverdesign.org/Competition2012.
